Gianna Risoli, PT, DPT, CSCS

Hi, I’m Gianna Risoli. I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2007, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Physiology and a Certificate in Neuroscience. I then went on to continue my education at the University of Colorado, and received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. I am also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

I am originally from Colorado, where I have worked with the full spectrum of active communities ranging from world-class competitors to weekend warriors. My passion lies within orthopedics with a strong emphasis on manual therapy and prescriptive exercise skills. One of my most rewarding experiences was working with high school athletes. In addition, I have also been exposed to a variety of patient populations including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, cerebrovascular disease, and pulmonary dysfunctions. I am also currently one of the Knee Rehabilitation instructors at Medicine Wheel Wellness.

I have experience with:

  • Orthopedic and sports physical therapy
  • Total joint replacement
  • Manual Therapy: muscle and joint mobilization, muscle energy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF)
  • Therapeutic and functional exercise prescription
  • Patient education
  • Dry needling

And my specialties include:

Always up for an adventure

  • Posture Restoration Institute (PRI): Myokinematic Restoration
  • Systemic Dry Needling for sports performance
  • Functional Dry Needling
  • Kinesiotape Certification
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Precision Nutrition: Certificate in Exercise Nutrition

I am always up for an adventure, whether it is traveling, enjoying the outdoors, or learning something new. I enjoy skiing, backpacking, biking, soccer, running, paddle boarding, live music and photography.

My personal PT tip: Don’t settle for anything less than whole patient care.—“The part can never be well unless the whole is well.” -Plato

“I would like to commend Excel Physical Therapy on having an excellent staff member named Gianna. She has helped me with rehabbing my shattered kneecap, and educated me as well. I am so pleased to give credit where credit is due: Gianna is professional, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor, which is a major asset in any endeavor. I believe that Gianna genuinely cares about the folks she helps each day. She is an excellent addition to your already great staff.” –Jane F.
